I feel I would be an excellent tutor for any high school student. I have several years of tutoring experience dating back to the fourth grade. Two of the students I tutored in fourth grade received the "Most Improved Award." I also tutored second graders when I was a freshman in high school, one received a "Most Improved Award" and the other received a highest GPA award. The same year, I worked as a tutor in my Integrated Science class for extra credit. Several of the students I tutored got either an A or B in the class. Most recently, I tutored my best friend, and helped him raise his GPA from 1.3 to 2.6, and he was then able to graduate in summer school, instead of having to take another year of school. Although I can tutor several classes, my strengths are in Algebra I, Geometry, and writing. I received the following grades in each of these relevant classes: English I, first semester A-, second semester A+; English II, first semester A, second semester A-; English III first semester A+, second semester B+, English IV, first semester A-, second semester A-; Algebra I, first semester A+, second semester A+, Journalism I first semester A-, second semester B- (later revised to A due to me being promoted to Entertainment Editor and Asst. News Editor and being absent during the final as I worked to finish the final edition of the paper); Journalism II, first semester A-, second semester A (I was also Asst. Editor in Chief).
