Mima L.
Private tutor in Santa Cruz, CA
Education
My education was partly in a boarding school in France and partly in Northern California, but my degrees are two BA's from the University of California at Berkeley: 1 in French and 1 in Comparative Literature.
Experience
I am first generation "American", my father and mother having emigrated to the US just before I was born. I am bi-cultural and a native speaker. French was my first language and what we spoke at home. I obtained a Single Subject Credential to teach French 11 years ago. For the last 9 years I have been teaching French at a College Preparatory School, all levels (1 through 4 AP). Recommendations follow. Before that I taught at an elementary Montessori School. My writing and grammar are excellent and I am very qualified to tutor at the college level. I am passionate about people and about my subject. I really love teaching. Recently, I have been tutoring and am looking to expand that venue of instruction. So, if you just want to brush up, get ready for a trip/year abroad/business meetings, are struggling in class, need help writing papers or with conversational skills want to become fluent, get a high score on an exam, or any other reason to learn French that you can think of I can certainly help you! Be sure to check out my CV and letters of recommendation and be in touch with any questions...Mima
