My experience as a teacher includes leading courses in Greek and Latin at New York University, the University of Michigan, the University of Miami, and Princeton. I believe a good tutor is one who can adapt their approach to the needs of each student that they work with. When I work with students, I first figure out where the student is struggling and where the gaps are in their knowledge. I then understand how the student learns, and I explain concepts using different approaches and unique perspectives matching the student's learning style to help them understand concepts they missed out on. I also form relationships with my students so that we can connect and openly communicate about their needs and their progress, which is difficult to do at the classroom level. I listen attentively to my students to ensure that I'm addressing all of their needs.
