Education
I just completed a rigorous degree in Philosophy from U.C. Berkeley, and have turored in writing papers, philosophy, and math in the past. I think I can be especially helpful when it comes to developing better study habits, as that is usually the most important thing to focus on when we feel that "we're just not good" at this or that subject. We're all challenged at some subjects and sometimes having someone to bounce things off of is the best remedy. For me, It was very challenging to get a degree in a subject in which the grading scale was different and more difficult to get an A in my department 9(I found this out after I graduated!). The thinking tools of philosophy such as analytical thinking, reading very abstract material, 'thinking outside of the box', and because the subject can be all encompassing, makes it closely related to physics, math, creative writing, science, etc. It has made my thinking sharper in many other areas. I also went to Cabrillo College for my General ED. I am very patient and willing to work around schedules.
Experience
I was on the honor roll at both Cabrillo, and Berkeley, I have been a teacher's aid at the elementary and high school levelbefore I graduated from Harbor High. At Cabrillo, I took two algebra classes, three english classes, physical and biological sciences. I have taken Metaphysics, LOGIC, ethics, psychology, (social and abnormal), and have written hundreds of papers especially in philosophy and english. I think of tutoring as not so much teaching, but working together to get the best outcome for you. That gives me a lot of satisfaction. Everybody learns differently, and that is the focus rather than who is smart or less smart, which is largely something invented by us.
