I graduated with a B.A in Environmental Studies at UC Santa Cruz in Spring 2015. I have taken a broad range of courses in college from Calculus to Marine Biology to Philosophy to Psychology and more. Some courses I may need a quick refresher, but once I skim through a chapter the information is fresh in my head and I am able to explain the concepts or information very well.
Experience
Extensive previous tutoring experience with 1 on 1 sessions Group (2-4) sessions Conventional/classroom style (Kumon, etc) I enjoy seeing my student's improve and become more confident. I have tutored in about every general middle school and high school course and am very comfortable with math and science. I explain concepts or difficult material in a way that students can actually comprehend and utilize. I try to have the student learn or think about things from a wider perspective so they can have a deeper understanding rather than practice basic memorization. Instead of spoonfeeding students, I treat every session like a quiz so that they will be under a small amount of stress which will improve their learning and also have them be self-reliant. I have my own car so I would be able to meet/tutor anywhere!

Hobbies
Hobbies of mine include anything that is outdoors. I love to go hiking, camping, surfing, swimming, running, kayaking, SUPing, fishing, spearfishing, and more. I like to learn about and work on cars, which I have done ever since I bought my first car. I am a very mellow and easy going guy that is very good at getting along with others. I understand that I am not there to be the student's friend, but I try to relate and be casual in order to try and create the best atmosphere for the student.
