EducationElissa is pursuing a PhD in Environmental Studies at UC Santa Cruz and holds a BS in Wildlife & Fisheries Science with a minor in Spanish from Penn State.
ExperienceElissa has 15 years of teaching experience and has worked with students of all ages to identify, develop and implement strategies to support her students' success. She has worked in both classroom and nontraditional settings and especially enjoys teaching math and science. Elissa encourages curiosity and believes that self-confidence is important in empowering her students to take an active role in their education. Backed by experience working with students with behavioral problems and learning differences such as ADHD and autism, Elissa values students' unique strengths and views challenges as learning opportunities.
